This Privacy Policy explains how Truli ("Truli", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). It applies to information we collect from and about you when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.1. ScopeThis policy covers personal information processed by TRULY INC LIMITED in connection with the Service. It does not cover practices of third parties we do not own or control, even where the Service links to or integrates with them.
2. Information We CollectInformation you provide• Account information: email address, username, password (stored hashed), and any profile information you choose to add.• Content: questions, answers, polls, quizzes, ratings, comments, votes, bookmarks, and any media (images, video) you upload.• Communications: messages you send to us through support channels, including any attachments.• Age verification: the date of birth you provide to confirm you are 16 or older. We store the result of the check rather than your full date of birth where possible.Information collected automatically• Device and log data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and version, app version, language, time-zone, crash reports, and diagnostic data.• Usage data: pages and screens you view, features you interact with, the dates and times of your visits, and referring URLs.• Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 13 below.Information from third partiesWe may receive information from third parties such as authentication providers (when you sign in via a connected account), email delivery services (for delivery and bounce status), and analytics providers, as described below.

5. Anonymous PostsWhen you choose to post anonymously, your username and profile are not displayed publicly alongside that content. However, on our backend we still associate the post with your account, in encrypted or hashed form where practical, for the following reasons:• to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse;• to allow you to manage or delete your own anonymous posts;• to investigate violations of our Terms;• to comply with valid legal process.We may disclose the identity behind an anonymous post if required by law, in response to valid legal process, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm or to enforce our Terms.
6. How We Share InformationWith other usersThe content you post (other than anonymous content's authorship) is visible to other users of the Service, and your username, profile, and public activity may be visible to anyone using the Service. Do not post information you do not want to be public.With service providersWe share information with vendors and contractors who perform services on our behalf. These include:• Backend & database: Convex, which hosts our database and serverless functions.• Authentication: Better Auth and any connected identity providers you choose to sign in with.• Email delivery: our transactional email provider, used to send verification and security emails.• Hosting & CDN: our web hosting and content-delivery providers.• Analytics & error monitoring: providers that help us understand usage and diagnose crashes.These providers process information only as necessary to provide their services to us and are bound by contractual obligations of confidentiality and security.For legal reasonsWe may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) enforce our Terms, including investigation of potential violations; (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of Truli, our users, or the public.Business transfersIf we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by email or notice in the Service) of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.With your consentWe may share information for other purposes when you direct us to or otherwise consent.We do not sell your personal information for advertising purposes.

Data RetentionWe retain personal information for as long as is necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy, including to enforce our agreements and comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal information associated with it within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it (for example, for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolution of disputes). Backups containing your data are deleted in the ordinary course of our backup-rotation schedule.

Your Rights and ChoicesDepending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:• access the personal information we hold about you;• correct inaccurate or incomplete information;• delete your information;• object to or restrict certain processing;• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;• portability — receive your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.You can manage many of these directly in the Service (for example, edit your profile, change your email, or delete your account in Settings). 9. Children's PrivacyThe Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact us at privacy@truli.app and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International Data TransfersWe and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States, the United Kingdom. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) to protect international transfers of personal information.
11. SecurityWe use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our practices. However, no security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

Cookies and Similar TechnologiesOn our website we use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (for example, theme and accent), measure usage, and detect abuse. On our mobile apps we use the equivalent device storage and identifiers.You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may impair core functionality of the Service, such as keeping you signed in.
13. Third-Party Links and ServicesThe Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third party before providing them with your information.

If we make material changes we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or via the email associated with your account before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
