Newborns need a sleeping bag because you can’t give them a blanket and they need to be in their crib sleeping in their back. They also make involuntary hand movements all the time and can easily scratch their own face. Swaddle up is designed to keep your baby safe, warm, and feeling safe. It has hand inserts like mittens and is snug to make the baby feel as if they are being held. I loved the Swaddle Up when we were using it and highly recommend it. You’ll eventually outgrow it and will need a different sleeping bag without the hand guards, which the brand also sells.
