Debris is one of my favorite places to grab a drink at in Tokyo. Located in the posh district of Daikanyama, it’s an easy walk from Shibuya and Nakameguro, making it a fun place to stop at before or after being at different places. What do I like about Debris? - Quality drinks - It’s a Speakeasy (not many in Tokyo) - It has a DJ booth - Friendly staff - Music is usually good If it’s your first time heading, entrance is free, but you’ll get charged an extra 500 yen on your first drink.

Meiji Jingu Shrine

If you’re visiting Tokyo for the first time, I strongly recommend visiting Meiji Jingu. It’s one of the most well known shrines in Tokyo and is located in the heart of the city. The grounds are massive and it’s the perfect place to visit if your eyes are craving some nature. It's a unique blend of nature and history right in the middle of the city and it offers a genuine insight into Japan's traditions. Definitely a must-see.

This is half a day trip or even a full day trip out of Tokyo but Kamakura is a really cool place to visit if you have time. This recommendation is to see the big Buddha statue, but Kamakura itself is full of nature and shrines and there is lots to see.

If this is your first time in Tokyo Shibuya is a place you must visit. Enjoy going through a massive scramble crossing. Shibuya totally lights up at night so I recommend going when it’s dark. Shibuya is also a super popular area for going out and shopping and there are countless things to do here.

Kabuki Hall Shinjuku

This is a must visit place for anyone coming to Japan for the first time. It’s a recently opened venue in the heart of Shinjuku. It’s a typical yokocho venue but turned up to 11 in terms of design. It’s pure neon and lights and noise and is a complete sensory overload but in a good way. Really recommend coming here for drinks or some food. You can enjoy live music and literally every square foot of the place is instantly Instagrammable. 🍡🎌🍜🍣

Mori Art Museum

If you have time I highly recommend checking out the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi. The contemporary art pieces are eye-opening, and there's this amazing view from the building that gives you a unique perspective of the city. It's a blend of art and cityscape that I genuinely enjoyed. The views are hard to beat. Worth checking out if you're around.

It's a maze of narrow alleys packed with tiny bars, each with its own unique vibe. It feels like a time capsule of post-war Japan and offers a truly authentic nightlife experience. Also be prepared to enjoy drunken random conversation it’s locals. If you're looking for an offbeat Tokyo evening, this is the place.
